YES, we always clean the glass prior to applying the Diamond Fusion. We machine polish the glass to "as new" condition (no mess, no dust) and get you to check the glass to make sure you are happy with it prior to applying the Diamond Fusion.
The machine polishing is done without dismantling the glass - no dust or mess.
In the unlikely event we cannot get the glass back to looking really great, we advise you of the issues and then do not apply the Diamond Fusion. You can then choose to update your glass and apply the Diamond Fusion to the new glass.
So, why replace the glass when we can machine polish to "as new" condition in 95% of cases.

The process takes just 1.5 - 2 hours for the shower glass plus any time to clean / polish the glass prior to application. There is no mess and the treated surface can be used immediately – there’s no drying time. An average shower costs $395 - $588 for the Diamond Fusion application to the glass plus the cost of cleaning if the glass if it is not new / unused. Travel may be additional.

It will reduce the cleaning effort required by 50%-90% and you will not need any more harsh smelly chemicals! BUT, like non stick frying pans, you do need to give the glass a gentle wash with a soft cloth & soap/dishwashing liquid and a polish with a towel every week or so just to keep it absolutely sparkling!
In some areas with extremely hard water or bore water, it is necessary to clean more often & dry with a towel after every use.
NB: Some shampoo / conditioners contain higher quantities of silicone (often called Dimethicone) which can leave a smeary residue on any surfaces in the shower including Diamond Fusion. We recommend not using these products at all. The silcone residue will be on top of the Diamond Fusion and can be easily removed with a soft cloth and methylated spirits.
