What our customers would like to know
Q. On what surfaces does the DIAMOND FUSION™ process work?
A. All glass, tile, porcelain and ceramic surfaces – in fact, all silica based materials.
Q. How long will it last?
A. DIAMOND FUSION™ is “good for the life of the glass”. As it is a molecular chemical bond to the silica, it will not peel, crack, break down over time, haze or fail unless severely mistreated. Other glass treatments on the NZ market are only a “wipe on or spray on” coating (e.g. similar to car wax) which wears off over 6-12 months and needs to be applied again. Often you need to use their expensive cleaners as well in order to keep “topping up” the coating. You will never need to reapply DIAMOND FUSION™ and there are No special, expensive cleaners to buy!
Q. How is the process applied?
A. The process is called “chemical vapour deposition”. The surface to be treated with DIAMOND FUSION is cleaned. A specially designed machine pumps out a “fog-like” vapour containing the special chemicals needed to make the molecular change to the glass. The process happens in a split-second and the shower etc is immediately able to be used.
Q. Will I still need to clean my glass, tile and porcelain
A. Yes you will. The process REDUCES cleaning time – it does not eliminate it. Many people who squeegee every time they take a shower for fear of hard water stains, can now throw the squeegee away and relax. A simple wipe down / polish with a towel onceor twice a week is one way to keep the glass clean and like new. If anything begins to stick, a quick once-over with a wet cloth / glove supplied with dishwashing liquid, dry with a towel and the DIAMOND FUSION™ is as good as new again!
NB: Some shampoo / conditioners contain higher quantities of silicone (often called Dimethicone) which can leave a smeary residue on any surfaces in the shower including Diamond Fusion. We recommend not using these products at all. The silcone residue will be on top of the Diamond Fusion and can be easily removed with a soft cloth and methylated spirits.
Q. It sounds expensive, is it?
A. Yes it is but, in the long term quite the contrary is true. You wouldn’t paint without priming the surface and you wouldn’t put in an expensive stone floor without sealing it before you moved in. Why then would anyone not imbed DIAMOND FUSION™ into a surface that is prone to damage when by doing so, the products life is extended so dramatically? Not taking into account the savings on chemical cleaners no longer needed, the time savings alone are worth it. An average new, unused shower treated with DIAMOND FUSION™ costs $395 - $550 plus any cleaning costs.
Q. Can I use my regular cleaners to clean the surfaces?
A. You could, but you won’t need to. If maintained properly (clean and dry weekly), the surfaces should never need a cleaner stronger than a ph neutral glass cleaner. Usually they aren’t even needed. This makes the process truly a “green” one. People wont need to use caustic chemicals which get into the water supply or ocean, or worse yet be breathed in while you are cleaning the glass!
Q. Will it harm my tinted glass, insulated glass or surrounding frames?
A. Actually, it can’t. The treatment process does involve chemicals, however, they become inert within seconds and don’t cause any damage during the infinitesimal time they are active. Your glass will not discolour or lose clarity either – in fact it looks shinier!
Q. Can the process be done at my home or office on existing surfaces?
A. Yes it can. That’s one of the DIAMOND FUSION™ treatment’s major benefits, we come to you! This allows us to restore old surfaces and then coat them to keep them looking new. Restoration of older/dirty glass is an extra cost before DIAMOND FUSION is applied to get that “as new” finish.
