Plastic is everywhere
Take a moment to look around. You will probably be able to pick out several objects containing the most popular material on earth: plastic. And it’s no wonder. Plastic is strong, durable, versatile. It’s used to make telephones, watches, computers, automobiles, sunglasses, clothing, and thousands of other objects we find in our daily lives.
Plastic takes many forms. From the resin found in fibreglass and carbon fibre to Formica, and acrylic, they are all made from plastic. So are window tint films and the lenses in sunglasses. It exists in places most of us don’t realize: some glass is coated with plastic and most paint contains it. Many metals are clear plastic-coated and even many kinds of wood have a clear, protective plastic coating.
Yet as abundant as plastic is, what’s more amazing is that few people really know how to care for it properly.
CONVENTIONAL PLASTIC CLEANERS.
Conventional Plastic cleaning products have proven less than satisfactory. Existing cleaners are often messy to use (especially creams and pastes) and require several steps to apply. They have to be rubbed on and buffed. They often leave a sticky, tacky or oily residue. And, in many cases, they’re abrasive, leaving small lines in the plastic.
Dissatisfied with these cleaners, many people resort to products that are alcohol, ammonia, or petroleum-based. Unfortunately, these products can dry out plastic, leading to cracking and discoloration over time.
